We had Emily, Rohan, Sarah and Jonathan in our group today and we had a very good class. We went over the theme ‘birthday’. After two weeks of learning, I was happy to see that our children were using the words very well. When I showed them the toy cake after reviewing the flash cards, Emily and Jonathan both said ‘Dan Gao(cake)’. I was really impressed! When I asked ‘what is this’, Sarah also answered it correctly. Well done! We made a birthday cake in craft time. Rohan enjoyed it very much. At the end, everyone had a lovely beautiful cake with all the colorful decoration.

For the second session, we had Mia, Madeleine, Jamie and Natalie in our group. I have to say all of us did an excellent job when we were reviewing the flash cards. Mia and Madeleine and Jamie all said the new words perfectly. Natalie could also repeat after me. Good job, my friends! I see you are improving your Mandarin very quickly. We espically had great fun in the craft time making our own birthday cakes. Mia was really excited about it and made a beautiful ‘Dan Gao’. Madeleine and Jamie also gave their Baba, Mama very lovely hand made birthday cakes. What a wonderful day!

Thanks,

A J

Week 10: Friday/ Saturday Craft Room General Overview

it’s our lovely Ling Ling’s birthday this week! We all put on our hats and had a huge birthday pai du (party) for Ling Ling. Everybody shared the birthday cake and we also gave presents to Ling Ling.

It was also Helena’s 4th birthday this week. Thank you Helena for bringing a cake and sharing it with us. Aidan’s and Nikki’s mums also brought cakes to the class for all the children to share. We would like to thank all of you dearly. :-)

We made cupcakes for craft this week. All the children showed their great passion and creativity by picking the colours and decorations to put on the plate. Lovely!

Xie xie and hope to see you all next term!

Colleen
