HSK (Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì / 汉语水平考试) is the official Chinese language proficiency test for non-native speakers. It assesses listening, reading and writing skills across multiple levels and is widely recognised by schools, universities and employers around the world.

YCT (Youth Chinese Test / 青少年汉语考试) is an international Chinese proficiency test designed specifically for children and young people learning Mandarin as a second language. The test provides an enjoyable and age-appropriate way for students to measure their progress and celebrate their achievements.

Taking HSK or YCT helps students set meaningful learning goals, build confidence in their Mandarin abilities and gain internationally recognised certification. It is a valuable way to acknowledge progress and motivate continued language learning.

No. Our test sessions are open to all students learning Mandarin, regardless of where they study. We welcome students from schools, community language programs and private tuition settings. Parents, teachers and schools are encouraged to contact us to discuss suitable test options for their children or students.

The most suitable test level depends on the student’s age, learning experience and Mandarin proficiency. If you are unsure which level to choose, our team will be happy to provide guidance and recommendations based on the student’s background and language skills.

The next HSK and YCT test session is scheduled for November 2026. Specific test dates, levels and session times will be announced closer to the registration period.

Test results are generally available one month after the examination date. Candidates will be notified once results have been released and can access their official results through the testing system.
