Not at all. Many of our students start with no prior exposure to Mandarin. Our programs are designed to support complete beginners through to more experienced learners, with a strong focus on building confidence from the very start.
Mandarin Stars offers programs for children from toddler age through to high school and beyond. Each program is carefully designed to suit the developmental stage and learning style of the age group.
Yes, we offer adult classes in both online and face-to-face private tuition formats. Our adult lessons are fully tailored to individual goals—whether it’s for travel, business, or personal interest—so you can learn at your own pace and focus on what matters most to you.
We run small group classes with 6–8 children, allowing our teachers to build strong relationships with each child and tailor their approach to individual learning needs. Lessons are highly interactive, immersive, and designed to keep children engaged.
Class lengths vary depending on the age group, but typically run between 45 and 90 minutes per session.
Yes, as children progress through our programs, they are gradually introduced to Chinese characters in a structured and age-appropriate way, alongside strong listening and speaking foundations.
For our Bubs & Tots classes and selected preschool classes, parent participation is required. This not only helps children feel safe and supported, but also creates a special bonding experience as you learn and enjoy Mandarin together. It also allows parents to continue the learning at home more confidently.
Not at all. We provide support through our in-house workbooks and video learning resources, so parents can easily follow along and support learning at home—even without a Mandarin background.
We provide resources to help your child stay on track if they miss a lesson. We do our best to arrange make-up classes where possible; however, this cannot be guaranteed and may vary across locations. Please check with our friendly local team for more information.
