Native Level 2

These highly interactive classes are taught in 100% immersion-based Mandarin, designed specifically for native speakers of Mandarin.  Classes aim to teach strong listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Mandarin.

In our Native Level 2 classes (for students age 6-8 years), we teach Mandarin through more child centric themes that enable our students to confidently communicate in Mandarin and also start to exchange basic information and ideas with their teacher and peers. Students start to locate and classify information from a range of written texts, and respond to texts in Chinese. They also start to compose imaginative and informative texts.

In line with the Stage 2 syllabus for the NSW Chinese K-10 Syllabus, Students apply tonal features of spoken Chinese, and recognise how syllables are decoded from and encoded into Pinyin. They identify the form and composition of and spacing within Hanzi, relating components and their positions to meaning and sound. They apply their knowledge of grammatical elements to describe actions, people and objects.
